BSAVA 2025

RAMP had a productive few days at the BSAVA Congress 2025 in Manchester. The team led by our Vice President Lucinda Stott, supported by Jo Paul and Amanda Stears spread the word advocating the use of RAMP to check the credentials of practitioners asking for MSK referrals.
It was emphasised not all practitioners that are eligible for RAMP volunteer for registration and there are practitioners in practice that are highly qualified but not voluntary registered. However, many vets did ask why practitioners would choose not to register if there was an opportunity to evidence accountability and commitment to their profession in animal practice.
There were questions around the RCVS announcement last week (published in full in the previous news item) and in general there was support of the new position if the MSK professions become statutory regulated in the legislative reform around veterinary healthcare provision.
